Job Description
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Planner to join our Supply Chain and Planning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising inventory management for Apple products, ensuring stock availability while balancing investment in inventory to maximise return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Sales Planning
- Maximise inventory efficiency to achieve unit sales targets.
- Meet quarterly sales targets by Line of Business (LOB).
- Review shipping schedules, stock on hand (SOH), and forecasted sales to plan stock effectively while considering lead times.
- Ensure the Core Group Africa (CGA) and Authorised Apple Resellers (AARs) have the right stock at the right time to minimise stockouts.
- Maintain weeks-of-stock levels within agreed parameters.
- Take action on slow-moving stock and advise stakeholders on strategies to boost sales performance.
- Allocate stock effectively to meet partner expectations and maximise sales potential.
Reporting & Process Compliance
- Maintain and update the iPhone, iPad, CPU, and Watch sell-in forecast (SIF) updates, sell-through forecasts, and backorder submissions.
- Prepare and submit the weekly Namibia and Zambia stock and sales report to Apple.
- Update and manage the Apple shipping report.
- Generate and distribute daily SOH and backorder reports.
- Compile and share the twice-weekly CGA Master Sales Report.
- Review and update the weekly stock and sales report.
Strategic Objectives
- Contribute to the achievement of quarterly strategic objectives by implementing effective inventory and planning strategies.
Requirements
Essential
- 5 years’ experience in planning OR 0 to 3 years’ experience for Industrial Engineers.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis).
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts for forecasting and planning.
- Experience in supply chain or inventory planning.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Desirable
- Python programming capability.
- SQL programming capability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering
