Role Overview:

The Senior Business Development Manager - Education,  will be instrumental in expanding the iStore market presence within the education sector.  This role is tasked with driving sustainable financial growth, enhancing customer value, and fostering strong relationships with educational institutions. The ideal candidate will lead a sales team, develop strategic sales plans, and identify new business opportunities, ensuring that our offerings meet the evolving needs of the education market.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in education-based products, preferably technology-related
  • Extensive existing contact base in the education sector
  • Proven track record in solution-based sales and understanding of complex sales cycles
  • Experience in managing a sales team

Travel Requirements:

  • Domestic travel, including overnight stays, is required
  • Own transport and a valid driver's licence are essential

Key Performance Areas:

  • Develop and implement sales plans and quarterly targets aligned with business objectives, ensuring achievement of these targets
  • Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities while maintaining existing relationships in schools and tertiary education institutions, both public and private
  • Ensure a well-managed sales pipeline and oversee its management
  • Host regular events and training sessions for education leaders and decision-makers on the latest offerings and solutions
  • Conduct regular sales analysis and report on pipeline status and forecasts to management
  • Manage the sales team to achieve targets, ensuring a weekly call cycle is in place for both self and team
  • Collaborate with key decision-makers within the business to align on key projects
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends and customer needs in the education space
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and industry contacts
  • Drive the CRM strategy for the department, ensuring adherence to best practices
  • Develop and maintain strong industry-relevant product knowledge
  • Manage specific projects in line with strategic objectives
