Job Description
Core Group represents some of the world’s most valued and loved brands in Sub-Saharan Africa. It’s our mission to empower individuals and organisations with the world's leading personal technology products and services.
We are the leading distributor of Apple in Sub-Saharan Africa, proudly representing the brand in South Africa since 1995. We also distribute other global brands such as DJI and Nintendo.
Our responsibilities are all-encompassing, spanning supply chain management, marketing management, channel management, enterprise sales, and media relations. Our operational footprint extends across Botswana, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa.
Role OverviewWe are looking for a Digital Capability Trainer to build and deliver a structured training programme that
helps people work more effectively using Microsoft 365 on Apple devices, the wider Apple ecosystem,
and modern AI tools.
This role is about practical capability. We already provide powerful hardware and software. The
opportunity is to ensure people know how to use them properly in real business conditions and to build
stronger confidence, consistency, and day to day productivity across teams.
The successful candidate will design content, deliver training, run workshops, and provide one to one
coaching that improves how individuals manage their time, communication, collaboration, and outputs.
The focus is not on teaching features in isolation. The focus is on helping people work better.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Development
- Design and continuously improve a structured digital capability programme with an emphasis on
- Microsoft 365 capability development, aligned to Apple device usage and the wider digital capability strategy.
- Develop practical course content, workshop material, exercises, job aids, facilitator guides, and digital learning assets.
- Create content suitable for both internal staff and external customers, with a strong focus on practical workflows and everyday use cases.
- Ensure content reflects real world working habits rather than theoretical examples.
- Training Delivery
- Deliver instructor led sessions across internal departments and, where required, to external audiences.
- Facilitate half day and full day workshops, webinars, and short format sessions.
- Provide one to one side by side coaching to individuals and teams.
- Adapt delivery style to different levels of capability and confidence.
- Engage both technical and non technical audiences effectively.
Primary: Microsoft 365 on Apple devices
- Deliver training across Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, Planner, and To Do at beginner to intermediate level, specifically on Apple products.
- Training should focus on real workflows and day to day productivity, not just application features.
- This role requires someone who can build user confidence and practical capability across the
- Microsoft suite, but it is not intended to be an advanced Excel specialist position.
- Teach efficient use of macOS, iPadOS, and iOS in professional environments.
- Cover topics such as multitasking, window management, file and information organisation, continuity features, and Apple native apps such as Notes, Reminders, Freeform, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote where appropriate.
- Teach how email, calendar, tasks, meetings, and collaboration tools operate as a single connected system rather than isolated applications.
- Introduce lightweight automation including rules, templates, shortcuts, and repeatable workflows that reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
- Support practical use of AI tools for drafting, summarising, planning, refining, and idea development.
- Provide clear guidance on verification, human judgement, and data sensitivity in business contexts.
- Strong hands on experience using macOS in business environments is essential. Familiarity with iPadOS and iOS is also important.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 in professional settings, with the confidence to train users from beginner to intermediate level across the core apps.
- Practical experience using AI tools in a work context.
- Proven experience delivering adult training or facilitation.
- Ability to design learning material from scratch.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confident facilitating groups and working one to one.
- Comfortable operating independently and managing delivery schedules.
- Experience in corporate training, enablement, or learning and development.
- Some experience in using Google Workspace or converting Google workspace workflows into 365.
- Experience supporting digital transformation or platform migrations.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms or digital course development.
- Understanding of Apple ecosystem integration within Microsoft environments.
- Practical and grounded.
- Comfortable in front of a room.
- Able to simplify without oversimplifying.
- Focused on outcomes and behaviour change.
- Curious about improving how people work.
We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about improving workplace productivity and helping
people work more effectively with the digital tools they use every day. This role is ideal for someone
who enjoys developing others, building confidence in platforms such as Excel and Microsoft 365,
and translating everyday tasks into smarter, more efficient ways of working. The successful
applicant should be motivated by practical capability-building, strong user support, and enabling
measurable improvements in how teams perform. This is not a role for an advanced Excel specialist
or a highly technical spreadsheet expert; it is designed for someone who can confidently train,
coach, and support employees up to an intermediate level in a practical, approachable, and
business-focused way.
Please note: If your application is successful, we will proceed with background checks. These include a criminal record check, credit check, ID verification, Matric certificate verification, and reference checks.
