Core Group and iStore operate in a fast-paced, high-performance environment where the Recruitment Team plays a critical role in supporting both Retail and Corporate functions across South Africa and part of Africa. We are looking for a proactive, detail-driven Recruitment Assistant who is passionate about adding value, driving delivery, and ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and internal stakeholders.

The TA/ Recruitment Assistant ensures high-quality, timeous, and accurate administrative support throughout the full recruitment lifecycle. This role demands exceptional responsiveness, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Administration

  • Provide accurate, error-free recruitment administration including scheduling, documentation handling, and ATS/system updates.
  • Maintain strong internal stakeholder satisfaction through accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Support the Recruitment Team with pre-employment checks, reference checks, and all ad hoc administrative tasks.
  • Assist with the screening and reviewing of one-way interviews.
  • Schedule interviews and prepare/send accurate interview packs, details, and reminders.
  • Ensure a seamless, positive candidate experience in partnership with the Recruitment Consultants.
  • Update all trackers, spreadsheets, and check sheets daily.
  • Submit weekly recruitment progress reports on time.
  • Ensure all recruitment data is complete, accurate, and audit-ready at any time.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Request, collect, verify, file, and upload all candidate documentation correctly and timeously.
  • Ensure full compliance with POPIA, Payroll, Audit, and internal Core Group standards.
  • Check that all documentation is correctly named, clear, valid, and not expired.

Teamwork & Values

  • Work collaboratively with the Recruitment Team, supporting colleagues and assisting junior team members when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualification

  • Matric (Grade 12) essential.
  • HR, Business Administration, or a related tertiary qualification  (advantageous but not essential).

Experience

  • 3–5 years’ experience in recruitment administration or HR administration. 
  • Experience working with an ATS (Simplify experience highly advantageous).
  • Experience working with MIE or LexisNexis systems.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume recruitment environment (beneficial).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook/email.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail (non-negotiable).
